Executive therapy · League City & Houston

Executive therapy in League City and Houston.

Executive therapy is confidential counseling for people who lead. It is built for founders, executives and high-performing professionals who carry pressure at work and at home. An executive therapist is licensed to treat anxiety, burnout and depression, and also understands boardrooms, deadlines and the cost of a bad quarter. At PTP, you can meet in person in League City or by telehealth anywhere in Texas.

Who it's for

Who executive therapy is for.

We work with founders, executives, entrepreneurs, sales leaders and high-performing professionals across the Houston area and Texas.

You want someone who won't be impressed by your title, and won't be scared off by it either.

You might be a good fit if
  • You're running the company, the team or the deal, and nobody at work knows how heavy it is
  • From the outside you look fine. Inside you feel flat, wired or empty
  • You've stopped sleeping well, you're snapping at home, or you can't switch off on weekends
  • You hit the goal and it didn't feel the way you thought it would
What it helps with

What an executive therapist actually helps with.

01
Burnout and chronic pressure

The exhaustion that doesn't go away after a vacation.

02
Anxiety that looks like productivity

Over-preparing, over-checking and never feeling done.

03
High-functioning depression

Still performing, but the meaning has gone out of it.

04
ADHD in successful adults

You built systems to compensate, and they are starting to crack.

05
Work spilling into home

Conflict, distance, or being physically present and mentally at the office.

06
Identity and purpose

Transitions, exits, promotions, retirement, or "is this it?"

The short version: if the problem is skills, hire a coach. If the problem is how you're doing, start with a therapist. Many leaders need some of both. At PTP, the same counselor can work on how you're doing and how you're performing, because they come from the same place.

How we work

The boardroom and the therapy room.

Our founder, TJ, spent nearly a decade in corporate finance and tech and is a former collegiate athlete. The practice was built to speak both languages. Our work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and existential therapy. Sessions are practical: real conversations about real situations, like the board meeting, the hire you regret, or the argument at dinner.

01
Get clear on what matters

Your values, not just your targets.

02
Make room for the hard stuff

Stop spending energy fighting thoughts and feelings that won't go away on command.

03
Take committed action

Small, specific moves that line up how you lead with who you want to be.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Will my company know I'm in therapy?

Not from us. PTP is private pay and does not bill insurance, so no claim or diagnosis goes to an insurer or employer plan. What you share is protected by confidentiality laws, with the standard legal exceptions, such as a risk of serious harm. We walk through those exceptions in your first session.

Can I do therapy and executive coaching at the same time?

Yes. Many leaders do. Therapy deals with how you're doing, and coaching deals with skills for the role. If you already have a coach, we can complement that work.

Do you work with CEOs and founders?

Yes. We work with founders, executives, entrepreneurs, sales leaders and high-performing professionals.

Can I do executive therapy sessions virtually?

Yes. Telehealth is available anywhere in Texas, and in-person sessions are in League City. Many clients mix in-person and virtual sessions around travel.

How many executive therapy sessions will I need?

It depends on what you're working on. Some leaders come for a focused stretch around a transition or a hard season. Others stay longer because it becomes the one hour a week where they can think clearly. We check in on progress together.

Do you work with leadership teams?

Yes. For teams we offer leadership programs and workshops, which are coaching with a therapeutic foundation, not clinical treatment. See Leaders & Organizations.
